AWARDS & ACCREDITATIONS

A multi-award winning UK military veterans charity

At Walking With The Wounded, everything we do is focused on improving and saving the lives of those who’ve served.

We work directly with ex-service personnel to help us deliver support for veterans that rebuilds confidence and lives after military service.

Accreditations

Pride in Veterans Standard

PiVS is a programme developed by Fighting with Pride, open to any organisation that provides veterans support or services who are committed to being inclusive and welcoming to LGBT+ veterans, serving personnel and their families.

Cobseo Veterans Mental Health Awareness Standard

VMHAS Self-Assessment Tool has been developed and tested by a variety of organisations (large and small) who provide health & wellbeing support to veterans. The Self-Assessment Tool is accessible, useable, and effective in the provision of safe and sustainable non-clinical services, and places of support for veterans with mental health needs.

Quality Network for Veterans Mental Health Services

QNVMHS was developed in collaboration with the Contact Group in 2020 to promote quality improvement within and between veterans mental health services. A key component is the sharing of best practice by listening to and being led by staff, veterans and their family members/carers.

Since we started in 2010, we’ve been dedicated to providing excellent support for ex-Forces personnel. And we’re hugely thankful for the achievements and awards we’ve won, working with veterans and partners to deliver the best services possible.

On 16th April 2011, our team, including four wounded soldiers, successfully arrived at the North Pole, having covered over 200 miles, pulling sledges that contained all of their equipment and supplies. This was the greatest distance of any polar expedition that season.

“Mentally, I was on the floor when I was referred. My Employment Advisor picked me up and changed my life 100 percent. He is worth his weight in gold.”
